Individual sessions

Developing a Creative Care Practice 

Develop or deepen a creative practice to support your mental health and well-being. 

Work on a one-to-one basis with me, Sophie, a fully trained and HCPC-registered art therapist.

 

I will provide a supportive, non-judgemental, and safe environment for you to:

* find ways to express yourself creatively,

*build self confidence,

*increase your self awareness, 

*find calm and grounding through mindfulness exercises

*develop a creative practise with tools to use in your daily life to take care of yourself

 

Over 8 weeks, we will focus on a different art material each session:

* learn basic art techniques (how to use the art materials),

*creative prompts and activities that promote self expression and nurture mental health,

*finding connection between how we feel and what we make

 

Sessions are £50, which includes room booking, all art materials, and refreshments. 

Online sessions are also available.

 1. Book a free initial chat

Here I can tell you more about what the sessions involve.

We can have a phone or video call (whatever is best for you).

I can answer any questions and discuss your needs, including accessibility.

2. Book an introductory session

After we have spoken on the phone and you feel you would like sessions, we can arrange to meet.

In this first session we will go through therapeutic contracting, risk assessment, and get to know each other a little better.

We can also try out a creative activity to get a taste for it. 

3. Begin your sessions!

If after this introductory session we both feel like this is the right fit for you, we can go ahead and begin our sessions! 

We would meet once a week, for 8-weeks (including the intro session). Each week involves a check-in, a mindfulness/grounding activity, and an art activity with a different art material. 

The aim is for you to leave with a whole host of tools and self care resources for you to draw upon in your daily life for support.
